How Lucas and Retroriginal run a full-time vintage t-shirt business without drowning in listings

01
Lucas has been selling vintage tees since he launched his website in 2011. As he added marketplaces, listing turned into the same job done over and over.
“ONE BY ONE. Copying and pasting information across multiple platforms. Accidentally selling items that had already sold on a different platform.”
Getting one shirt live on 4 platforms took him 15–20 minutes. And every extra platform raised the risk of selling the same shirt twice.
02
Lucas has been full-time since before Vendoo. His days follow a steady rhythm:
Sourcing happens between all of that, mostly online.

A lot of my sourcing just comes from other sellers on social media or on Depop. It’s a lot of scrolling and making offers that will likely be declined, haha.
03
Three Vendoo features keep Retroriginal’s listings in sync.
One listing goes to multiple platforms “at the click of a button,” which saves time and gives each shirt more chances to sell.
When a shirt sells on one platform, Vendoo pulls it from the others. That stops him from accidentally selling an item that’s already gone.
He checks analytics to make sure he’s on top of his sales and profit goals.
Vendoo fixes those problems, expedites the process, and keeps everything under one roof, which I love.
04
By Lucas's estimate, Vendoo makes his listing process at least 3 times faster. Listing one item across 4 platforms went from 15–20 minutes to 5 minutes or less.
His goal now is simple: get every new piece of inventory listed on every platform available.
Vendoo eases my mind when it comes to listing. It helps me stay on top of my inventory and have all the information I need, all while not overwhelming me.

“Your content doesn't have to be perfect. If you already made a piece of content and are contemplating posting it, just do it! You never know what posts will pop off. No one following you is going to see everything you post.”
“Having a conversation with a stranger can be tough, but you never know what kind of connections you can make by just being a friendly person. You help others and they can help you.”
“A $100 shirt takes the same amount of time to list as a $10 shirt.”
Lucas's math: you might pay $5 for a shirt and sell it for $10, but after fees, is your time worth less than $5? Probably not. Better tees also sell through faster, because they're more desirable and harder to find.
