Both platforms offer seller protection in case of a dispute, problem, or fraud. Posh Protect and Mercari Seller Protection are nearly identical. However, neither platform offers protection when the seller does not comply with the platform’s terms of service, including engaging in communications or transactions off the platform.

Selling Fees: How much does Mercari take vs. Poshmark?: Poshmark charges 20% selling fees, or a flat fee of $2.95 for sales under $15. Mercari has zero selling fees!
Shipping: Poshmark requires sellers to use their shipping label and charges buyers a flat rate of $7.97 for shipping. Mercari allows sellers to choose their shipping method; they can use a prepaid USPS Mercari label or ship on their own however they would like. Both Poshmark and Mercari allow sellers to charge for shipping or to offer free shipping, paying for it themself. Note that Mercari also has a local delivery option.
Selling Categories: Poshmark specializes in fashion, but also allows the sale of beauty, home decor, pet accessories, and select electronics. In comparison, Mercari offers a much larger array of categories; you can sell almost anything that is not illegal, hazardous, or perishable.
Audience: Poshmark has an audience of 100 million active users in the United States and Canada, but each operates independently and there is no global shipping. Mercari has an audience of 23 million active users in the United States. Mercari also does not offer global shipping.
